As April winds down we recapture the month and then look ahead to May.
The band returned from the Florida run, faces a little tanner and bringing home some sunny dispositions after this super successful leg of the Road Dawg Tour 2012. For sure they will be heading down that way again in the very near future! Upon their homecoming they immediately prepared for their first appearance at Parlor City Pub and Eatery in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Backed by Linn County Blues Society and promoted well on radio and by the press, the turnout was fabulous! Another ideal venue! No question a comeback appearance will be on the books. The very next night landed MC in his home away from home, The Chicago House of Blues. Always a superb diverse and attentive international audience at the House!!
Next month, May will allow Michael some much needed time in the studio but the band will make a trip up to Minnesota for a performance at Legend’s in St. Cloud Minnesota. A cool location that keeps the letter of invitation extended to Michael Charles and his band. May 18th sees the band in Three Rivers Michigan for a debut at the historical Riviera Theatre which first opened its doors to the public on December 23, 1925. This should be a memorable show at a grand venue! Other dates for May are on the table as this is being scripted, so keep a check on the schedule.
At home base, May surfaces as an exciting month for Michael Charles and Moonlight Label, as we prepare to release the second CD single in the “Under the Covers” series. Disc Two entitled “Going Down” boasts two remarkable cover tunes, “Going Down’ and The Sky is Crying. MC’s concerts are nearly always tagged somewhere during the night with an exceptional version of the Don Nix song, “Going Down”, but The Sky Is Crying, truly an all-time favorite of audiences in the past, hasn’t been heard of late. Now there is a rumor that it will indeed be added to the song list once again, and I can testify you will all be in for a treat. This song fits MC to a tee! Watch for a May 6th release date for “Going Down” Disc Two of the “Under the Covers” series. As with all Michael Charles’ discography you may purchase CD’s and DVD’s at his concerts, through michaelcharles.us, itunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Videdeck, CDuniverse, and the USA record label Moonlight Label, and Australian record label Newmarket Music.
Editors Note: For those “download babies” permission was recently given to CD Baby to offer digital album downloads of Michael Charles’ catalog at even a better value than before. Head over to michaelcharles.us CD store
